French and foreign teachers work together.
They teach in their own language for specific classes in history, geography and English literature. The programs are established by the school authorities of both countries.
Therefore, international sections are places of international educative cooperation.

The international sections are a meeting and International cooperation place.

Their principal objective is to allow French and foreign students to acquire together knowledges using progressively a foreign language in certain classes.

They were designed to welcome foreign students (They must be between 25 and 50% of the total number of students for the section), to facilitate their integration in the French school system and their eventual return to their own school system. Their attendance creates a favourable situation for French students to learn foreign languages at a high level.

International sections are opened to pupils which have the aptitude, especially linguistic, to follow this type of class. These aptitudes have to be verified by the school.

Classes in secondary education are more specifically made up of :

4 hours of history and geography weekly, which 2 are in English. The program is established in agreement by both countries France and England
4 hours of foreign literature in English weekly to be added to the normal English class schedule

The bachelor’s degree

The classes at the end of “terminale”has to be confirmed with an exam in French. (section ES, L or S) and moreover by the O.I.B (Option Internationale du Baccalaureat)

The two OIB specific subjects are:

Languages and English literature
History and geography

The French bachelor’s degree with the international option deeply facilitates the access to foreign universities. Moreover it is appreciated in France (also in prep school) because they prove an excellent foreign language level, a bicultural education and a true multi-skilled qualification.
